Standardul stabileşte clasele de toleranţă, în inch, pentru diametrul exterior, ovalizarea şi grosimea de perete a ţevilor din materiale termoplastice destinate transportului fluidelor. Standardul se aplică ţevilor din materiale termoplastice cu suprafeţe netede, cu secţiune plană circulară constantă pe toată lungimea ţevii, indiferent de metoda de fabricaţie, material al ţevii sau aplicaţie prevăzută.
