Standardul se aplică răşinilor termorigide şi materialelor armate cu fibre de sticlă utilizate la construcţia navelor mici, cu lungimea corpului (LH) de până la 24 m, conform ISO 8666. Acest standard stabileşte cerinţele minime pentru proprietăţile materialelor ranforsate cu fibre de sticlă şi matrice de răşină, precum şi a stratificatelor de referinţă, obţinute din aceste materiale.
