Plastics piping systems - Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) end-load-bearing double socket joints - Test method for leaktightness and strength while subjected to bending and internal pressure (ISO 13783:1997)

This standard specifies a method for testing the leaktightness and strength of assembled end-load bearing joints of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) which allow a maximum angle of deflection of 3°. It is applicable to double sockets provided with elastomeric sealing rings and locking rings, intended for use with PVC-U pressure pipes (See figure 1.) The method specifies the internal hydrostatic pressure, the method of calcultaion for the additional bending force and the procedure for the bending test.
