Standardul stabileste caracteristicile gazelor naturale utilizate drept combustibil. Gazele naturale destinate proceselor de chimizare nu fac obiectul prezentului standard. Gazele naturale destinate consumului uman, în schele de productie de petrol si gaze, nu fac obiectul prezentului standard
