Standardul prezinta caracteristicile mecanice si electrice ale sigurantelor si încercarilor corespunzatoare. Sunt descrise sase tipuri de sigurante fuzibile standardizate: sigurante fuzibile tip D; sigurante fuzibile cilindrice (tip A, B, C); sigurante fuzibile tip stift; sigurante fuzibile cu element de înlocuire cilindric (utilizate în principal în fisele prizelor de curent). Standardul prezinta interes atât pentru producatorul cât si pentru utilizatorul de sigurante fuzibile pentru uz casnic si aplicatii similare
