Acest standard stabileşte metoda utilizată pentru determinarea puterii de acoperire (viteza de stropire necesară pentru a da un raport de contrast de 98%) a vopselelor albe sau slab colorate. Este limitată la filme de vopsea având valuarea coordonatei tricomatice Y mai mare sau egală cu 70. Nu se aplică pentru vopsele fluorescente sau metalizate.
