Acest standard opereaza modificari generale si totodata procedeaza la o revizuire a ETS 300 132-2 Ed.1 1996, care a fost preluat anterior de standardizarea româna ca SR ETS 300 132-2:2002. Standardul defineste cerintele la intrare pentru echipamentele de telecomunicatii conectate la interfata "A", prevazute sa functioneze în curent continuu.
