Acest standard european stabileste cerintele constructive si de încercare pentru pistoalele manuale de pulverizare electrostatica si aparatura asociata lor, care pot fi folosite pentru pulverizarea materialelor de acoperire lichide si inflamabile, pulberilor de acoperire inflamabile sau a scamelor inflamabile în zonele de pulverizare, care pot sau nu sa contina adezivi inflamabili. Aceste dispozitive de pulverizare sunt considerate a fi aparate din grupa II, categoria 2 în conformitate cu Directiva 94/9/EC pentru utilizare în atmosfere potential explozive formate de ceata pulverizata de acestea
